So far I have the main harness hooked up with all connections tested with a multimeter. On the primary 9 pin harness, I have the black wire hooked to a solid ground and the white wire hooked to the running light switch. The rest are left unhooked. The brown wire is hooked to the brake switch, for now the rest are left unhooked. Door lock harness is left unhooked for now, satellite harness is hooked up to the module as well as the valet switch. Now I have a couple of questions regarding this unit, I tried to see if I could get the module to show any signs of life by trying to program some of the commands to it, but could not get the led to light at all.

My first question is do I need the neurtal safety switch and hood pin switch hooked up to test my progress so far with the install? My second question is, are there any other wires that need to be hooked up to their appropriate on the primary 9 pin harness to test the remote start feature? I read through some forums that it can be used for add on modules but im not so sure.

My third question is, does the satellite harness need to be hooked up for the remote start feature? Does that have anything to do with the phone app or is it the antennas for the remotes? My fourth question is regarding how to set up the door lock feature when the time comes.

First of all, an engine’s ignition system is completely separate from its electrical system. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other, except in battery-powered ignition systems, the electrical system supplies power to the ignition system. When connecting the wires for an electrical system, don’t just make a connection by twisting bare wires together by hand and taping them up.

All this does is allow moisture between the wires and in time, lets corrosion set in, causing a faulty connection. Instead, solder the wires together, then tape them up with electrical tape or use heat-shrink wrap of the correct size. Or for a “clean” and professional look, use “crimp” style wire connectors to connect two wires together, or connect a wire to a coil stud terminal or switch terminal.

I probed the remote starter and I received 12V briefly on the starter wire when it first tries to turn on. The remote starter thinks the car is running because it only tries to start it once not retrying it 3 times like it should since the car never starts. The headlights and dash lights come on but the engine doesn’t start. Check the ground while running output connection on your remote starter.
